         Dr. Aravind S. Bharadwaj – SAE International Fellow

WARRENDALE, Pa. (July 5, 2017) – SAE International announces that Dr. Aravind S. Bharadwaj was elected as a 2016-17 SAE Fellow. He was one of 22 fellow inductees recognized during ceremonies at WCX 17: World Congress Experience in Detroit.
Bharadwaj was recognized as an SAE Fellow for leading several technology initiatives culminating in the launch of successful product offerings, such as Digisense – The Unified Mahindra Connected Vehicle Platform and Mahindra Biogas Plants.

He is currently Chief Technology Officer, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

Previously, he was CEO of Automotive Infotronics Limited, Executive Director of Advanced Engineering & Mission Summit at Ashok Leyland. He also worked for TVS Motor Company, Delphi Technical Center, GM Powertrain, and the GM R&D Center.

Bharadwaj remains active with SAE International as a director on the board from 2008-2010 and president of SAEINDIA from 2014-2016. He has published several papers in International journals and conferences and has three patents.
He earned a bachelor’s degree with Honours in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has a master’s and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He also has a master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

SAE Fellow is the highest grade of membership bestowed by SAE International. It recognizes outstanding engineering, scientific and leadership accomplishments by an individual that have resulted in meaningful advances in automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle technologies. The program, established in 1975, recognizes an average of 20 recipients worldwide for this honor each year.
