Qualification and Experience:

Professor P.K. Bose graduated with First Class honors in his Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) curricula. He did his Post Graduation and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University and IIT, Bombay respectively. He was formerly Director, School of Automotive Engineering, Jadavpur University, and Kolkata before simultaneously assuming the important office of the Director of NIT, Agartala, Tripura and NIT, Silchar, Assam. The honorable MHRD in recognition of his exemplary achievements as the Director has handed over the additional charge of two new NITs to blossom under the umbrella of his directorship.He has also been appointed member of the All India Board of Under Graduate Studies in Engineering and Technology under the auspices of the AICTE.

Papers, Patents and Awards:

He has authored more than one hundred twenty five (125) research papers in International & National Journals of repute. His keen efforts to promote research as a definite index of academic excellence has resulted in blossoming thirty Ph.D. and thirty Master Degree candidates under the umbrella of his expertise.In his quest to prove the potential of research studies in contemporary academics Prof. Bose, has supervised many Research Projects funded by MNRE, AICTE, DST, and UGC in the capacity of the Chief Investigator. In his vision to look beyond the horizons of pure academic pursuit, Prof. Bose also holds the post of the Chief Coordinator of the Patent Promotional and Archival Cell, Jadavpur University. He is the author of two books and has achieved the rare honour of holding seven Patents to his name. He has been nominated as Man of the Year 1999 for his overall accomplishments & contributions to the society by The American Biographical Institute Board of International Research, USA .He has been elected as a Member of the prestigious International Directory of Distinguished Leadership. USA .He has been awarded the coveted International Intellectual of the Year (2001) title bythe International Biographical Centre, Cambridge.

Other Activities:

He has been nominated as a Chairman of National Board of Accreditation, AICTE. His commitment to excellence and his sincerity of dedication to the cause of the engineering profession have found him to be an eminent member of many professional bodies. He is the Founder Secretary of the SAE International-Eastern Section and Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India). His exemplary projections and foresight on contemporary issues has taken him abroad on numerous occasions as an Invited Speaker or Session Chairman in a number of International Conferences held at different countries. Prof. Bose is the member of Editorial Board and Reviewer of many National and International Journals. He is the Chief Coordinator & Convener for Two Years P.G. Degree in ME (Automobile Engg.) Mechanical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, under Innovative Programmes of UGC.
