Dr. Aravind S. Bharadwaj is currently CEO – Automotive Infotronics Private Limited (Joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Continental AG) since April 2008.

Qualification and Experience

He has a BE (Hons.) in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the Madurai Kamaraj University, MS & Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, USA and MBA (Distinction) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

Prior to the current position, he has been with Ashok Leyland and TVS Motor Company, India, Delphi Technical Center, Singapore, GM Powertrain and GM R&D Center, MI, USA. In these assignments, he has worked on Electric & Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Transmission & Engine Control Systems, Two-Wheeler and commercial vehicle electronics.

Dr. Bharadwaj has rich and varied experience of over 22 years in the field of automotive in product development/R&D both in India as well as overseas. He is a subject matter expert in various technology domains and is well recognized across the industry.

Papers and patents

He has 3 patents registered in the India and US, and has 18 papers in international journals and conferences.

Other activities

He is a certified six sigma black belt. He is currently the Chairman of the SIAM Task Force on Automotive Infotronics. He is a founder member of the Core Group on Automotive R&D and played a significant role in the project to deploy Telematics technology for Public Bus Transit Systems at Chennai. He is the Chairman, RMC of the TIFAC Core on Automotive Infotronics at Vellore Institute of Technology. He is a Senior Member, IEEE and the Past Chairman of SAEINDIA Southern Section, which won the best section award during his tenure. He is a Director in the Board of SAE International for the period 2008-2010 and actively involved in the organization of the APAC 16 conference at Chennai in 2011.
