Profile » Dr. Arun Jaura
Dr. Arun Jaura is the Vice President of Technology, India Engineering Center – Eaton Corporation, a $15.4 billion global premier diversified industrial manufacturer. In this position, Jaura is responsible for leading the Engineering Center in Pune, India. Qualification and Experience:Jaura completed his BE from NIT - Srinagar, M.Tech from IIT - Chennai and Ph.D from Concordia University, Montreal. Prior to joining Eaton, Jaura held the position of Chief Technology Officer of the Mahindra Group and headed the Office of Innovation and Global Advanced Technologies in Mumbai, India. Prior to this, he had held the position of Senior Vice President – R&D and Global Product Development in the Group’s Automotive Sector. Prior to joining Mahindra, he had worked at Ford in Detroit for 10 years. At Ford, Jaura was responsible for Vehicle Engineering of the Escape Hybrid Platform in Detroit. He had also worked for DRDO in Chennai for 10 years on battle tank and combat aircraft systems. Professional Highlights:Jaura has rich and varied experience of over 25 years in the technology space and product development/R&D both in India as well as overseas. He is a subject matter expert in various technology domains and is well recognized across the industry. Papers and patents:He has 5 patents registered in the US/Europe and Japan, and has published 37 international and national publications in journals and conferences. O0ther activities:Jaura is a Technical Fellow of the SAE International, a distinction bestowed on engineering professionals and a recipient of the prestigious Henry Ford Technology Award in 2004 for the world’s first Hydrogen Engine Propelled Hybrid vehicle.
In India, he is a member of NATRIP’s Technical Advisory Committee,
Chairman of CII’s Taskforce on Technology, and co-chair of the CAR
committee on Advanced Propulsion. Most recently, he was the
Chairperson of India’s 350crore National Hybrid Platform Program
that was approved in the 11th Five Year Plan. He is on the Executive
Committee of Hydrogen Association of India. |
